Forbes Names World Travel Holdings a 2021 Best Midsize Employer

The only travel agency on the list, World Travel Holdings ranked 452 out of 500

Wilmington, Mass. (March 30, 2021) – World Travel Holdings, the nation’s largest cruise agency, was recently named to Forbes America’s Best Midsize Employers 2021 list.

“It has been a challenging past year for the travel industry, our employees and our network of franchisees and independent travel agents, so to get the news that our company was ranked on Forbes list of Best Midsize employers was so exhilarating,” said Loren Kennedy, senior vice president of Human Resources and Customer Care for World Travel Holdings. “What makes this recognition even more impactful is that while we are the only travel agency on the midsize list, many of our travel partners from the cruise and resort industry are included on the large employers list and we are honored to be recognized beside them.”

According to Forbes, “In the wake of the global pandemic, midsize businesses have had to navigate countless challenges, from applying for Paycheck Protection Program loans to securing protective equipment, whether or not they employ healthcare workers. The companies on our list of America’s Best Midsize Employers have risen to the occasion, adapting in ways that benefit both their customers and employees.”

World Travel Holdings’ mission is to “Deliver a Remarkable Experience” and has kept that promise to its employees and customers during the pandemic. The company has always prided itself on transparency and started hosting virtual Town Halls with its Executive Team to share updates on the state of the industry and the health of the company. Its corporate Virtual Fun Committee hosted new, fun, and engaging activities to stay connected with employees. When cruising came to a halt, the company quickly adapted to meet the needs of its customers by changing its marketing messages, creating new technologies, expanding its land vacation offerings, training its agents on the new travel health & safety protocols and more.

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to compile the list by surveying 50,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. Participants were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family, and to nominate organizations other than their own. The final list ranks the 500 large and 500 midsize employers that received the most recommendations.
